After driving through picturesque little villages you will arrive at the incomparable setting of the mountain of Montserrat, which rises majestically to 1235 meters. At a height of 725 metres has stood since 1025 the Montserrat Monastery. The Royal Basilica of the Monastery has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain for hundreds of years. Numerous miracles have supposedly happened at Montserrat, centred on the icon of La Moreneta (Black Virgin), said to have been hidden here by St Peter. In the Basilica the children's' choir, which participates in every day morning missa, interprets Gregorian songs  After that we can visit the museum of Monastery, which features paintings by masters such as El Greco, Caravaggio and Picasso  and go up the mount by funicular where you are amazed by the splendid views.
