Enjoy a journey along the magnificent Costa Brava, renowned for its magnificent beaches and small coves. Admire wonderful seascapes as you pass through busy resort towns as well as quaint fishing villages. Your guide will be able to recommend the best places for you to stop like the medieval town of Tossa de Mar, 56 miles (90km) north of Barcelona, it is the most attractive town on the Costa Brava, offering lovely sandy beaches and a lively atmosphere. Once the main port for exporting cork, Tossa is now dependent on tourism. Visitors are drawn to its 12th century walled town, Vila Vella, the ancient walls, battlements and towers enclosing a quaint historical labyrinth. After that we visit Gran Palace Lloret – where you can see the best show of the Costa Brava with Spanish and International ballet and a program of varieties.
On another flank, the Costa Brava includes the Alt Emporda, Baix Emporda, Girones, Pla de l’Estany and Selva counties. The diversity of landscape has shaped the different town typologies in this part of the region. Accordingly, one can find small nuclei with a charm of their own such as Peratallada, Peralada, Monells, Ullastret and Pals, seafaring towns such as El Port de la Selva, Palafrugell and Cadaques, major tourist centres such as Roses, Empuriabrava, Blanes, Lloret de Mar, L’Estartit, Platja d’Aro, Sant Feliu de Guixols and Palamos, and characteristic towns and cities such as La Bisbal (the pottery capital), Figueres (with its original and unique Dali Museum) and Girona (with one of Europe’s most widely visited Jewish quarters).
