The history of this old Russian town has existed for more than thousand years. The ancient country town at all times was famous for cultural and spiritual tradition. In territory of the Belgorod area there are Cherhjanski Holkovsky caves and a man's underground monastery world known. These are the chalk caves served for the cult purposes: cave chapels, monasteries. In Belgorod there is Preobrazhenskiy cathedral in which one of relics is the Icon of prelate Nikolay is stored, which is more than 500 years. The list of sights is pretty long, so you should definitely come and see by your own.
