Bulgaria has a territory of 111 000 sq.km. Almost half of it is mountains. They divide the country in a number of different regions, each one of which has developed its own traditions, food, music styles and folklore in general during the ages. The centers of these regions are usually towns and villages at the foothills of the mountains. They can be used for steps in a custom designed tour with a various balance between nature and culture, physical exercise and relaxation, with a different level of luxury in the accommodation, center based or circular. Some of these bases would be - Banako (in the northern foothills of Pirin mountaiin), Melnik (South of Pirin) Govedartsi - Malyovitsa (the northern foothills of Rila mountains), Rila Monastery (in the very heart of Rila), Koprivshtica - Kalofer (South of the Balkan Mountain), Troyan - Apriltsi - Tryavna (North of the Balkan Mountain Range), Smolyan (Rodopi Mountains). Of course, we shouldn't forget the capital Sofia and Plovdiv - the biggest cities in Bulgaria. Any trip interconnecting some or all of these places and the surrounding regions would be possible and easy to design upon request, in respect with the personal focus and requirements of the guests.
